Marigold 2.3.0 - New Features

This article summarizes some of the new features available in the latest release of Marigold

Introduction

Version 2.3.0 includes a handful of useability enhancements to make sure your work in Marigold is seamless. These changes include new save file management through DL's Storage application, a tool to measure map distances, and improvements to raster layer visibility handling.

DL Storage Migration

Upon opening Marigold 2.3.0, users will trigger a one-time migration process for all of their saved data. This should only take a minute as all user data is automatically transfered from the old storage system to their new location in DL Storage. This new system gives better transparency and management controls to individual users over their saved data.

Users can now view and manage their  data at the URL below:

Through DL Storage, users have better insight into their files sizes, can download or delete files, and search or sort by a property such as date created. In the event that there is an issue with a .sav file, users can also access the date-time stamped backup version of each Marigold .sav file to recover their work.

Measuring Tool

In 2.3.0, we have added a simple tool to measure distances on the map. This is useful for assessing the scale of features identified in Marigold, like the width of an alteration zone.

To use the new measuring tool, simply select the ruler icon in the top-right icon bar.

The tool works similarly to the draw vector polygon tool. Once you've clicked the ruler tool, click the daw line icon on the map and begin measuring. Click one point on the map and then move your cursor around the map. The distance from youre first point will be displayed live in kilometers as you measure. To add a point along the line, click the map and continue measuring and the sum total distance will be displayed. To complete you measurement, click the last point again and the measurement and tool will disappear from the map.

Raster Layer Visualization Improvements

Finally, a few simple improvements have been made to the raster layer list to help you manage the layers you have created, especially when there are a lot of them! To main changes have been made.

First, the "eye" icons that distinguish visible and invisible layers have been given more contrast to help distinguish them. Visible layers now have a filled purple eye that differentiates it from the unfilled and crossed-out invisible layer icon.

Additionally, a button to turn off the visibility of all raster layer in a single click was added. This can save time when you need to turn off a number of products at once to help isolate a lower product.
