A new feature-packed update for Marigold is out now.
The latest update for Marigold boasts a major overhaul of the spectral query tool, support for expanded vector formats and coordinate systems, and a new tool to vectorize classified outputs like mineral maps. All this in addition to a handful of fixes and tweaks to help you get the most out of your Marigold experience.
The Spectral Query Tool
The spectral query tool has been revamped to make the sampling process more efficient. Users can now sample spectra within the tool prior to saving them permanently. Chosen spectra can be renamed and given a custom line color while unwanted spectra can be discarded. To learn more, see the dedicated article on the new Spectral Query tool.
Expanded Vector Support
Users have asked, and we have listened. The new version of Marigold goes beyond the geojson to support a number common GIS vector formats including:
- ESRI Shapefiles (zipped)
- MapInfo TAB files (zipped)
- GeoPackage
- Parquet
- DXF
Additionally, Marigold now accepts vectors in most geographic coordinate systems such as UTM and Albers projections. See the article on vector upload guidelines for more information.
Vectorization Tool
A new tool has been added under the Raster Management menu that allows users to generate vectors over classified layers, such as the results of the mineral mapping tool. Users can control the minimum feature size and the degree of smoothing applied and vector polygons will be created under the vector layers list.
This tool provides a quick method of overlaying features for reference, or exporting mapping results as a .geojson for visualization in an external GIS program.
