Marigold 2.5.0 - New Features

Check out the changes in the latest version of Marigold.

This update includes new ways to share files between users in your organization, a zoom-to option for spectral query points, and a new utility to update products within a save file. These new features are in addition to a number of fixes and improvements that have also been implemented.

Sharing Save Files

Often, colleagues working in Marigold may want to collaborate and share .sav files, or an organization may want to create a series of template with prebuilt product to help users get started. Previously, this was possible by manually downloading a .sav file and sending it to other users to upload, but with this latest feature users are now able to share their .sav files with individual users listed by email, or to their entire organization. Saving and sharing options are now available through the save menu dialog.

To load a shared .save file, open the load project menu and you will have the option to filter to show projects shared with you. These files will be shown with a suffix of (shared) after their name. Open the file and begin your work! Note, these shared projects still belong to the original creator and work you perform will create a divergent copy, so it is recommended that you save the file with a unique name to prevent confusion.

Zoom to Spectral Query

One long-requested feature, especially for power-users with dozens of spectra in their workspaces, has been the ability to "zoom-to" a spectra to help identify it on the map. This simple new feature can be found within the three-dot menu of any spectrum that has an associated latitude-longitude. Just open the drop down and select zoom-to spectra center the chosen spectrum's location in your screen. If you still aren't sure which one it is, try zooming in a bit to make it clear.

Product Update Utility

Finally, a new tool has been added within the Raster Management section of the Processing Toolbox that allows users to convert the base products used in derived layers. This tool will be most commonly used by clients that have upgraded or downgraded between a global or continental Marigold subscription. For efficiency, products like the Bare Earth Composites have separate regional versions within the Descartes Labs catalog and .sav files may run into issues if access levels change.

This utility can easily convert a .sav file using the Global Fused BEC to be compatible with the North American Fused BEC by performing a quick swap. For more details on how to use this utility, please see the dedicated Knowledge Base article here:
